DEPARTURE FROM THE FAITH
Paul wrote that in the last days there would be many departing from the faith. By the faith he meant the Christian faith. I can honestly say that we seem to see more and more of that.
When I was a young boy growing up almost everyone I knew went to church sometimes. They might not go every Sunday but they went at times. I dare say now that we are in an age where many people have never set foot in a church. Many have never really read the Bible or heard the plan of salvation.
As a matter of fact Christianity has come under attack by many ordinary citizens right here in the United States. Some of the restrictions that are being placed on Christians would have been unheard of, even when I was young.
I have seen many changes in attitudes in my lifetime and one of the greatest is the departing from the faith. When our own president goes to other countries and makes the statement that the United States is not a Christian nation maybe we should begin to take a close look at ourselves. Are we departing from the faith as well?
