PERILOUS TIMES 1

2 Timothy 3:1-5 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. {2} For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, {3} Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, {4} Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; {5} Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Introduction: One needs only to read the papers and watch the news to realize that we are living in perilous times. Neither I, nor anyone else knows for sure if we are in the last days but the social climate of our times surely matches the description in the above scripture. What we must do in perilous times is to persevere. We must do that which we ought to do even when others will not and even when it is very difficult to do.

The next few devotionals will be dealing with perseverance in perilous times. To persevere basically means to keep on going when it is hard to do. I hope you will receive both a blessing and encouragement from the devotionals this week.
