FOLLOWING JESUS 3

John 21:18-19 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not. (19) This spake he, signifying by what death he should glorify God. And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.

THE CALL STILL COMES LOUDLY FROM CHRIST FOLLOW ME:
WE MUST FOLLOW JESUS TO THE WILDERNESS OF TEMPTATION.
Matthew 4:1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the WILDERNESS to be tempted of the devil.

Jesus did not live a perfect life because He was never tempted. He lived His perfect life in spite of facing every temptation known to man. When you go through a difficult time in your life just remember that Jesus can identify with you.
We too must face temptation in life. That does not mean that we are to seek situations where we will be tempted. We don't have to, they will find us easily enough. It is however in temptation that we are tested and proved. It would be easy if we never faced temptation to live a Christian life. If it were easy we might wind up taking God's blessings for granted.
We are proved and approved for service through the temptations and trials and tests that we go through. Just remember when you are going through a difficult time that God might be preparing you for some greater service.
We truly experience the grace of God when we fight temptation and avoid sin. It strengthens us and draws us ever closer to Him.
