Galatians 5:13-15 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. (14) For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. (15) But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.
FREEDOM TO FULFILL THE LAW OF LOVE
We are free to love our families. We are free to love our friends. We are free to love our neighbors. We are even free to love our enemies. It doesn't matter what people think we should do. What matters is that God has freed us up from the bondage that comes from malice and hostility.
The very word malice comes from the same root word as malignant. What malice actually means is holding a grudge. Holding a grudge does to the spirit what cancer does to the body. It eats away at it and cause decay.
We are free to forgive and forget. We are free to help others and to love others in a special way. Sadly we sometimes don't exercise this freedom the way that we should. If there is something that you are holding on to that causes you pain and unhappiness just remember you are not obligated to hang on to it. You are free to let it go and love others.
