1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
How would you feel if your child came to you fretful and worried that you would not be able to take care of him. That would break your heart wouldn't it. We want our children to depend on us and we want them to know that we will do everything in the world to keep them from harm. We want them to trust us.
We are God's children. He wants us to trust Him for all things. Sometimes we think we will trust Him for the great things in our life and we will just take care of the small stuff ourselves.
If you really think about it sometimes it is the small stuff that just keeps piling up that really gets us down. Someone once said that it wasn't so bad to have to fight off a shark every once in awhile but it was impossible to fight off a thousand minnows with sharp teeth.
God wants to help us fight off the minnows too. He wants us to turn over even the little things to Him. If it is big enough to be a problem then it is big enough to pray about. When we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior the Holy Spirit comes into our life. He wants to guide us into a life that is completely trusting in our Heavenly Father. He will help us overcome the world, big problems, or small.
