Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, (23) Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
WHAT IS THE FRUIT THAT WE SHOULD BEAR?
We have been taught that as Christians we are to bear fruit. We have also heard much about the Fruit of the Spirit and too often if we are careful we will confuse the two.
The verses of scripture in our text tell us just what the fruit of the Spirit is. It is not us who produces this fruit, it is the Holy Spirit that produces the fruit when we "walk in the Spirit" or to put it simply when we yield ourselves to Him.
What is the fruit of the Apple tree? Of course it is apples. What is the fruit of the peach tree? Of course it is peaches. Using that same logic what is the fruit of a Christian. I would think it would be other Christians. We bear fruit by winning other people to Christ. The fruits of the Spirit are not the end results but the means to the end result.
