2 Kings 4:9-10 And she said unto her husband, Behold now, I perceive that this is an holy man of God, which passeth by us continually. (10) Let us make a little chamber, I pray thee, on the wall; and let us set for him there a bed, and a table, and a stool, and a candlestick: and it shall be, when he cometh to us, that he shall turn in thither.
ELISHA HAD A BED... A PLACE TO REST
Psalms 37:7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
We truly have a place of rest in Jesus Christ. Sometimes we fret and we worry about the future when all we really need to do is find rest in the assurance that Jesus is in control. He has us safely in His hands and nothing can pry us out.
What do we fear? Death? He has overcome death. Do we fear poverty? We have become joint heirs with Christ. Our Heavenly Father not only owns the cattle of a thousand hills, he owns the hills themselves.
Sometimes we get so caught up in our plans and in building for the future that we forget that the only secure future is in Jesus Christ.
Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, {39} Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
