II Chronicles 18:6-7 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might inquire of him? (7) And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may inquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he never prophesied good unto me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
Sometimes we are like the king of Israel. We want to hear what we want to hear instead of the truth. Ahab was such a man. He was the wicked king of Israel and when you read of all his evil deeds it is not surprising that a true prophet of God would have little good to prophesy for him.
There are many today who would pervert the Word of God because the true Word of God condemns their wicked ways. Instead of trying to change their lives to conform to God's Word they want to change His Word to fit their wicked lifestyles.
I hope to cover some of these instances in the next few devotionals. Some subjects are easier to write about than others. Please pray for me as I strive to follow the Lord's leadership in writing these devotionals.
