WHOSE FAULT IS IT

John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

A preacher and an atheistic barber were once walking through the rough part of the city. The barber remarked, "This is why I cannot believe in a God of love. If God was as kind as you say, He would not permit all this poverty, disease, and crime. He would not allow these poor bums to be addicted to dope, alcohol and other destructive habits. No I cannot believe in a God who permits these things." The minister was silent until they met a man who was especially unkempt and filthy. His hair was hanging down his back and he had not shaved in weeks. The minister said,"You must not be a very good barber or you wouldn't permit a man like that to continue living in this neighborhood without a haircut or shave." The barber became indignant, "Why are you blaming me for that man's condition. He has never come to my shop; I could fix him up and make him look like a gentleman if he would just come to me." The preacher gave the man a hard look and said, "Then don't blame God for allowing these people to continue in their evil ways. He is constantly inviting them to come and be saved. The reason these people are slaves to sin and evil habits is that they refuse the One who died to save and deliver them." The barber got the point, "Do you?" (copied)
God is always ready and always waiting to receive those who would come to Him. Too often they would rather stay in the darkness than come to the light.
