NO KING

Judges 21:25 In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

The book of Judges is a very turbulent book. The people would turn away from God and wind up in captivity. They would then turn again to God and he would send a Judge to deliver them from their captivity and they would have peace for awhile.
I think the biggest problem was that they forgot who they were really supposed to be serving. Every man did what he thought was right.
It really sounds much like our society today. People are trying to make decisions based upon their own ideas and upon their own feelings. People have elevated themselves to the position of king in their own little domain.
We must never forget that Jesus Christ is King of Kings and Lord of Lords to the Glory of God the father. It is not what we think or how we feel about something. What matters is what God's Word says about it. When we serve the true King we will serve according to His commands and they can only be found in the Bible.
