HOW EMBARRASSING

By Jeremy Burkes

1Thessalonians 5:22 ABSTAIN from all appearance of evil.

My mother used to tell me, "You may embarrass yourself but you had better not embarrass me." Most of us have done things we thought no one would see. We have things in our lives that we hope no one else knows about. We have watched things and been places we should not have. If our private thoughts were made public it would embarrass us and others.
God is always with us. He is always watching what we do. He is aware of the sin in our lives that makes us ashamed. Shame eats away at us and hinders our effectiveness- even we don't want to embarrass God. We often are so ashamed of our actions we don't want to ask God for help.
God wants us to come to Him, with repentance, and ask or Help. God will help us with our sin and even with our shame. We should choose not to embarrass God. Sometimes we are ashamed to talk to others about God because we are afraid of embarrassing Him.
We need to avoid all appearance of evil so that we do not embarrass God.

  1. and if we do and ask God for forgiveness and keep remembering it or being embarrased by it we need to say,"Get thee behind me, Satan. After God forgives us he doesn't remind us of our sins
