Hebrews 10:35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward.

Once a farmer who never went to church on Sunday but kept on working his fields confronted a Christian who refused to work on Sunday and who gave a large portion of his profits to the Lord's work.  The farmer who had no regard for God seemed to be making plenty of money and by the standards of the world was very successful.

He poked fun of the devout farmer, "You go to church, you give your money, you never work on Sunday and you don't have near as much as I do."

The Christian farmer just nodded and sadly shook his head and said, "You might be right but I know something you don't realize.  I know that God doesn't always settle up in the fall like farmers do.  If I do God's work.  I will receive God's pay in due time."

That is a good lesson for all of us.  We are to be bold in serving God and we will be laying up treasures in heaven.  They will be safe there.
