Convicted of Sin 7

Heb 4:12-13 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (13) Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

WE ARE CONVICTED BY GOD'S WORD BEING FAITHFULLY PREACHED

1Corinthians 1:18 For the PREACHING of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

As a preacher no one is more aware of how many people think that preaching is foolishness. Even many in Church enjoy most of the Church services more than they do the preaching service. If Christians can not sit and listen to a sermon longer than 30 minutes you certainly can't expect lost people to find any value in it.

It is through faithful and scriptural preaching of God's Word that many people are convicted.

Someone was telling me recently that they thought that the preacher must have been peeping through their window because his sermon was directed straight at them. God knows what people need. He works on the hearts of the listener and on the heart of the preacher, in the study as well as the pulpit.

Pay close attention to the preaching. God may use it to speak to your heart about something that is going on in your life.
