Convicted of Sin 3

Romans 2:14-15 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: {15} Which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;

I once read of an Indian who was asked how he would describe the conscience. He said it was like a triangle in the heart that would spin when you did wrong and would cut your heart with each turn.
I don't know about you but I have felt the cutting edge of that triangle in my heart many times.

The truth is that most of the time when we do wrong we know it is wrong without having to be told. There is something inside us that lets us know that what we did was wrong. If you never have that feeling then you have a serious spiritual problem. God has instilled in us that conscience to help us avoid the pitfalls of sin. It is for our own protection that God uses our conscience to convict us. It lets us know when we are guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
