Convicted of Sin 2

Heb 4:12-13 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (13) Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

GUILTY OF THE WHOLE LAW

James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the WHOLE LAW, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

If you do much visiting on behalf of your church or witnessing to people you will inevitably run into someone who will begin comparing himself with others, especially to wayward church members. The point we must not miss is yes, he is right. He is as good as we are. The problem is he is also as bad as we are. When we begin to compare ourselves to others we always need to make that same comparison.

James made a point. If we have broken the law at any point we are guilty of breaking the whole law. The Bible says "...for all have sinned." According to James if all have sinned then we are all guilty of all sin. It was sin that Jesus died for on the cross. It was the awful sin debt that we all owe that he paid the price for.

We belong to Him only by grace through faith in what He did for us. We are guilty of all sin. When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are pardoned from the punishment of all sin.
