TURNING BACK TO GOD 3

2 Chronicles 29

INTRODUCTION: During the reign of Hezekiah there was a Revival in Israel. It was brought on by the leadership of King Hezekiah. He had a desire to return to the glory of the former Israel as it had been under David, and under Solomon. He knew that returning to God was the answer.

HEZEKIAH AND THE PEOPLE DID SOME CLEANING UP

2 Chronicles 29:5 And said unto them, Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and sanctify the house of the LORD God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place.

He asked the people to clean up themselves first. He asked them to set themselves apart from the world and dedicate themselves to the work of the Lord. If we are to have revival it will start in the hearts of individuals. It will take getting some things out of our lives that are not pleasing to the Lord. It will mean making some drastic changes that might cost us some of our comforts.

We can not expect to get the filthiness out of our places of worship and out of our nations unless we put the bad things out of our own lives. After all, once we become saved we are Holy vessels and we are the temple of the Holy Spirit.
