HOLDING THE ROPE 5

2 Corinthians 11:32-33 In Damascus the governor under Aretas the king kept the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desirous to apprehend me: (33)And through a window in a basket was I let down by the wall, and escaped his hands.

Introduction: We do not know which disciples were responsible for saving the life of Paul, however; God used them in a great way to help Paul continue his ministry. Sometimes people may never know what or who is helping them to carry on God's work. This incident was so important in Paul's life that he referred to it in recounting the perils he suffered.

SOME EXAMPLES OF HOLDING THE ROPE
(To get the full benefit of this devotional you should also read the previous 4 devotionals)

Be a prayer warrior. Pray for your pastor, pray for your church and for everyone who is serving there. Pray for missionaries and for lost souls. Pray for those with physical and spiritual needs. They may never know that you were praying for them but God does.

Give of your time, talents and money. It takes all of these things to carry on the ministry of the church. It doesn't matter if anyone knows you are doing this or not. God knows what you do.

Be an encourager. You can encourage everyone by just being present. Give an encouraging word to those who are trying to do their part. People might not even remember it, but it will make a difference.

You can make a difference in many ways by being a rope holder.

If you know of someone new to the Kosciusko area and would like for our church to visit them please let us know. Our prayers are that this devotional ministry will be an outreach to bring people into a closer relationship with Jesus. I do appreciate you taking the time to read these devotionals and please keep us in your prayers.
