VICTORY IS OURS FOR THE ASKING

James 4:2-3 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. {3} Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

Lust is that carnal desire for physical satisfaction. Sometimes we want more than we have and we make ourselves miserable trying to get it. We live in a generation that has not learned the difference in what we want and what we really need and sadly many will go to extremes to get what they want to satisfy the desires of the flesh. Sadly this does not satisfy what they really need.

We should be seeking a close fellowship with God. A relationship in which we seek to please Him with our actions and we seek to know and feel His presence in our lives. We were created to serve and worship Him and we are saved to Glorify Him in our daily walk.

So often we are seeking His hand when we should be seeking His face. The greatest things we can desire are the spiritual things and not the carnal things of this life. We might not be possessing God's best because we are trying to grab a hold of the wrong things to begin with.

How long will you fail to live the victorious life because you desire the wrong things?
