IMMORTAL

Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
There are a lot of reasons to serve the Lord. The most important one should be out of thankfulness and out of gratitude.
Another reason is that he saved you for a purpose. It comforts me to know that as long as I am doing the work that God wants me to do and has begun in me that I am imortal.
I remember Josuha and Caleb. They fought bravely as they drove the inhabitants out of the promised land. They could not be killed in those battles. God had promised them that they would inhabit the land. That made them invincible to the enemy. God would fulfill His purpose in their lives.
I was once told by a doctor that if I didn't get a heart transplant I was going to die. Of course he was right, we are all going to die, but that was over 12 years ago, I didn't get a transplant and I haven't died yet.
I know that some day I will die but it will only be when the Lord is finished with me here on earth. I take a lot of comfort in knowing that I am immortal. Even when I do die I will be more alive than I have ever been before.
I think that is a pretty good motivation to keep on living for him and trying to fulfill His purpose in my life.
