SELLING OUT TOO CHEAP 7

ACHAN SOLD OUT ISRAEL BECAUSE OF COVETEOUSNESS Joshua 7:21 When I saw among the spoils a goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I coveted them, and took them; and, behold, they hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it. God had demanded that they destroy everything and take nothing for themselves. Achan disobeyed and when they next went to battle they were defeated because of "sin in the camp". It caused all of the people to suffer. The sight of that garment and of the silver and gold might be tempting to some of us today but it wasn't much when you know what it really cost him. He sold out for silver and gold just as many today are selling out for riches. Just as Achan tried to hide it men today try to hide their sin from God and man. It very seldom works. God knows our very thoughts and intents. Achan caused defeat to all Israel. When we harbor secret sin in our life we are not only selling our self out be we are selling out those around us too.
