THE MOUNTAIN OF TRIAL
Matthew 4:8-9 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; (9) And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
When we think of a mountain top experience we certainly don't think of being tried and tested but that is exactly what Jesus experienced on the top of this mountain. Jesus was tempted in every way that we are ever tempted, yet He never gave in to that temptation and He never sinned. His mountain top experience was a strong lesson to all believers.
Satan showed Him all the kingdoms of the world. Satan offered them to Him if He would bow down and worship him. Jesus refused, knowing that what God has to offer is what is best for us. Satan will offer us many things but we know that he is a liar and the father of all lies. It is strange how many people fall for the lies and follow Satan to a destructive end because the path seems easier than following God.
Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of Lords and someday all the kingdoms will bow down before Him. It will be in God's time and it will be God's will.
At some time or another you will be tried and tested. Remember that the easiest path is not always the right path to take. God's way is not just the best way, it is the only way that works. Sometimes the mountain top of trial helps to prepare us for greater things in the future. Rejoice also in this mountain top experience.
