READY TO DO GOOD WORKS
Titus 3:1 Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,
Even though we are not saved by our good works we must realize that we are saved to do good works.
Someone once asked a little boy if he had done any good deeds that day. He answered, "Well I didn't hit or kick anybody all day."
We can be a lot like the little boy. We feel like if we aren't really doing something to hurt someone we are doing a good thing. I believe that we must be prepared to do more than that.
The opportunities are many. There is always someone that you can help. It can take many forms but it is still a good deed. Sometimes a call or encouraging word can be one of the best works you can do. Other times it could be seeing a need and meeting it for someone without them ever finding out.
I personally believe that most Christians want to do good works but get so busy with their own lives that they don't take time to think about it. Maybe you would be more ready to do good works if you would take a little time each day to reflect upon what you can do for others.
Give it a try. It might be one of the most enjoyable experiences of your life.
