II Chronicles 18:6-7 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might inquire of him? (7) And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may inquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he never prophesied good unto me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
We see from our scripture that Ahab didn't want to hear the truth. Ahab had Micah thrown in prison for speaking the truth but before the end of the day Ahab was dead!
Laws are being passed in our country today called "Hate Crime" bills that could possibly land preachers in jail for speaking out against sin and false religions. It angers me that anyone could consider preaching against such things an act of hate. They are not acts of hate anymore than a doctor speaking out against a devastating disease. It is not the patient the doctor is against. It is the disease.
I know that I can speak for most Bible believing preachers when I say it is not the sinner we hate, it is the sin that destroys the sinner that we are against.
Remember that we are all going to die. Maybe not before the end of the day, but someday we are all going to die. We had better listen to the message of salvation because we are all going to face the judgment also.
If any of this offended you, you had better take a close look at your life in the Light of God's Word.

Unwanted Messages 3
II Chronicles 18:6-7 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might inquire of him? II Chronicles 186 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might inquire of him?
Jehosophat , king of Judah was a good king who feared God. Thankfully even today there are good men who want to know the truth about what God teaches.
There are many in positions of leadership who seek guidance from God's Word. They are willing to listen to spiritual men and seek instruction. Our nation and our government was founded by such men. If our nation is to remain strong then those who are in positions of leadership must continue to seek God's guidance. Any other way is going in the wrong direction and leads to destruction.
God's message is filled with reproof and correction. It is also filled with encouragement and promise. The truth only angers us if we are in the wrong.
When you are headed down the road of destruction don't become angry when someone warns you of the consequences to come. They are trying to help. It is the one who encourages you to continue on a path of destruction that is doing you an injustice.

UNWANTED MESSAGES 2
II Chronicles 18:6-7 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might inquire of him? And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.
II Chronicles 18:5 Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said unto them, Shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the king's hand.
Wicked men will surround themselves with men who will agree with them and tell them what they want to hear. I think they believe that if enough people will accept a lie that it will then become truth.
People want to be told that God doesn't hate sin. The want to believe that if enough people agree that something is not bad, then that will make it so. The truth is that no matter how common place a sin becomes, it is still wrong.
Most people who are not already saved don't want to hear about the reality of eternal punishment in Hell, but that does not do away with the existence of it.
Some try to believe that everything is relative to something else and that there are no absolutes. They say that there are mostly gray areas and nothing is black and white. The Bible is full of absolutes. Sin is bad. Hell is real. Thankfully salvation is free to all who accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior!

UNWANTED MESSAGES 1
II Chronicles 18:6-7 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we might inquire of him? Sometimes we are like the king of Israel. We want to hear what we want to hear instead of the truth. Ahab was such a man. He was the wicked king of Israel and when you read of all his evil deeds it is not surprising that a true prophet of God would have little good to prophesy for him.
There are many today who would pervert the Word of God because the true Word of God condemns their wicked ways. Instead of trying to change their lives to conform to God's Word they want to change His Word to fit their wicked lifestyles.
I hope to cover some of these instances in the next few devotionals. Some subjects are easier to write about than others. Please pray for me as I strive to follow the Lord's leadership in writing these devotionals.
