HOW TO HAVE SPIRITUAL PROSPERITY 5

TO HAVE SPIRITUAL PROSPERITY BE ZEALOUS

Titus 2:13-14 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; (14) Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

We should have a zeal to know God and a Zeal to serve Him. He created us and He created us for a purpose. When we are fulfilling that purpose He is fulfilling us. He is prospering us so that we may be better able to do His will.
We should have a zeal to encourage and help our brothers and sisters in Christ and not only in our own church but other Christians we know as well. I sometimes have sweet fellowship and become more zealous just from talking to strangers that love the same Jesus I do.
We should have a zeal to lead the lost to Christ. Our lives here on this Earth are temporary and as James says, "Our life is but a vapour that appeareth for a little while and then vanisheth away." We will be dead a whole lot longer than we will be alive. That is something to think about when you are sharing the plan of salvation with someone.
If you have a spiritual zeal to please God you will prosper spiritually.

EVERY DAY I WILL CALL UPON THE LORD IN PRAYER

Psalms 86:3 Be merciful unto me, O Lord: for I cry unto thee daily.
If we are going to have a great day doesn't it make sense to start it in prayer?
My wife and I have been having prayer together at the start of each day for some time now. We have found that it really makes a difference. We pray for our family and for all those on our prayer list and for those with special prayer request. This is not all the praying we do but it is a good way to start each day.
It starts us off thinking about God and about His mercy and grace and His provision for us. It keeps us from forgetting to pray for those who have requested it. It keeps us from getting caught up in busy activities and getting so busy that we forget to pray.
If you are going to have a great day you need to start off each day calling upon the God who separated night from day.
Try starting your day with the one who can bless your day, and by the way , "Have a really great day!".

CEASE NOT

Ephesians 1:16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;

No matter how rich our prayer life is we are bound to neglect some things we should not. Sometimes we are overwhelmed with a long list of prayer requests for those who have physical, spiritual or other special needs. I believe it is important to lift these up before the Lord in prayer.
I think it is wonderful that we can ask the Lord to bless us and those we know. It is comforting to know we can ask for his care over us and He will provide our needs each day.
Sometimes we fail to call out the names of those we are really thankful for. We need to be specific sometimes when we thank God for those in our lives. Sometimes we fail to remember how thankful we are for our family, friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ.
In this verse I think Paul is letting them know that he is thankful for them. If there is someone and I am sure there are many, take some time this week and make mention of them in your prayers.

HELP LORD

Ps 12:1 To the chief Musician upon Sheminith, A Psalm of David. Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.

This Psalm of David starts off with the simplest of prayers. It is something that each of us can use every day and most of us need to. David simply says, "Help Lord."
It is short. So many times when we pray we seem think that we must say more to have a better prayer. God doesn't need us to explain what is going on around us. He is aware of everything that is happening everywhere yet we sometimes try to give him a detailed account of our problems as if it might be a surprise to Him. He knows the details ahead of time but he wants us to acknowledge Him and come to Him.
It is to the point. Help. That is usually what we go to the Lord for. Help, I am discouraged. Help, I am surrounded by people who constantly make my life difficult. Help, I am weak and temptation is all around me. Help, I am sick and can't seem to get to feeling better. Help, I am confused and I need direction. Help certainly covers a multitude of situations. Help Lord.
It is directed properly. Help Lord. He is the only one so often than can help. No matter how hectic or unsettled our lives may become He is the only one who can really help us.
As you go through the day and through the coming days just remember it is a short but powerful prayer. Help Lord, I certainly know I need it.
