SPIRITUAL OBJECTIVES 1

Philippians 3:8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

To Receive The Greatest Riches

Jesus asks the question, "what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul?"

Satan is like someone at an auction trying to outbid everyone for something. The something he is bidding on is the souls of men. He offers pleasure and there are multitudes that are selling out for pleasures that are short lived and will soon pass away. Some of the things, actually most of the things, that I found pleasure in as a young man don't mean a thing to me today. Still there are some who live completely for those same pleasures

Power in something the Satan uses to bid for the souls of men. I never really understood the desire for power.it is able can do to control myself. I certainly don't want to control anyone else.

Frame and riches are like pleasure They are temporary at best. The will pass away. Jesus always offers something worth much more. He offers us eternal life in Glory.

Oar main spiritual objective should he to obtain eternal if through Jesus Christ.

HOW TO PROSPER AS A CHRISTIAN

INTRODUCTION TO PROSPERITY

Ps 118:20-25 This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter. (21) I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation. (22) The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.(23) This is the LORD'S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.(24) This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. (25) Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.

As the psalmist calls out to God here, so should we as Christians individually and collectively in our churches. Salvation is a wonderful thing but we should seek spiritual prosperity.
There are many was we can spiritually prosper and the next few devotionals will be devoted to that subject.
NOTE: Feel free to use these devotionals in any way to further our Lord's kingdom. You may forward them in emails, put them in your Newsletters or whatever. We feel that God has directed us to write these devotionals, they are His and for His Glory. Feel free to use or share them in any way that might bring Him Glory.

HE IS ABLE TO KEEP ALL THAT WE COMMIT TO HIM

2 Timothy 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Sometimes when the trials and suffering begin we, unlike Paul, begin to be filled with fear and doubt. Paul suffered about as much abuse as anyone that I have read about but he never wavered. Paul was not looking at the now. He was looking at the forever. He knew that the only really important things were the things he had committed to Christ. He knew the day would come when he would be rewarded by being united forever with Christ.
The same is true for us. We might lose sight of what is really important but the truth is all the really important things are those that are committed to Him. They are not the temporary things we think of every day but they are the eternal things that He is able to keep forever.
This world is temporary for all of us, but the things we commit to Him will last for all eternity.

EVERY DAY I WILL SEARCH AND FEED UPON THE WORD OF GOD

Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

It would probably really hurt you if you sent a letter each day to someone you loved very much and then you found out that they bundled them up and kept them in a special place without ever reading them. No matter how much they told you they treasured the letters you would be hurt to know that they didn't cherish them enough to read them.
God loves you very much and he has sent you a letter filled with love and instruction. It is the Bible. If you are going to have a great day you should read some in your bible everyday. I know people are busy and that is why I write a daily devotional. It is but a small morsel each day from God's veritable feast but at least it is something. I almost always include the scripture because I want you to at least read a verse from God's word. His Word is the meat and my devotionals are just a garnish. It is from the Word that you get your nourishment.
At some time each day set aside time to feed upon God's Word. It will help you have a really great day!

THE FIRST THING TO REMOVE

Matthew 7:5 Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.

In modern day language Jesus was saying, "How can you get a speck of sawdust out of your brother's eye if you have a two by four in your own eye."
The message here was on finding fault with others. Many times we can well see the smallest faults in others while we can't see the greatest ones in ourselves.
The only person that you can really change is yourself. Once you become who you should be then you will have a more positive influence on others. You can't change the way others behave but you can change the way you react to them. Make a conscious effort to become more positive. Sometimes the person that you would like to change is reacting to your attitude. It is kind of hard to fight unconditional love.

CHARGE!

YOUR ARE DRESSED NOW GO TO BATTLE

Ephesians 6:19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

The previous devotionals have dealt with dressing for battle in the spiritual warfare we are faced with. In Ephesians 6:18 Paul ask for supplication (prayer) for the saints(those who are saved) and then ask for prayer in this verse specifically for himself. His request is that he may boldly open his mouth and spread the gospel.
If we are to win the spiritual battles they will be won by sharing the gospel. They will not be won by argument or by debate or by compromise. They will be won by boldly sharing the gospel of the Bible. It is not just the responsibility of those in the full time ministry but it is the responsibility of every born again believer.
Every soldier in the Lord's Army has an obligation to carry out the great commission of reaching others for Christ.
You are dressed for battle. Charge.

DRESS FOR BATTLE 7

ORDERS FROM HEADQUARTERS

Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

When a soldier goes into a conflict he tries his best to stay in touch with his commanders. It is from those above him that he gets his instructions, his provisions, and his objective.
It would be foolish to think we can be victorious in spiritual warfare without seeking direction from our commander, Jesus Christ.
We must spend time in prayer, study, and fellowship with our fellow warriors to prepare for the battle before us. Let us all go forward to the victory that awaits.

DRESS FOR BATTLE 6

THE HELMET OF SALVATION AND THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT

Eph 6:17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

It is not surprising that Paul mentions both the helmet and the sword in the same sentence. The helmet is protection for your head. Truly the only offensive weapon we have is the Word of God.
If we fill our minds with scripture and spiritual things it will not only protect us from spiritual wickedness in high places but it will help us to reach others for Jesus.
Read your Bible enough to get a general knowledge of the entire Bible. Try to remember the verses that help you through the tough times and also the ones you need to use to witness to others.
God's Word is a formidable weapon in the hands of a Christian soldier who knows it well and handles it well.Unlike most weapons that are used to destroy, the Word of God is used to convert, it will change your enemy into an ally when used correctly. What greater way to defeat an enemy than to turn him into a Christian brother or sister.

DRESS FOR BATTLE 5

The Shield of Faith

Ephesians 6:16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

Satan has a lot of weapons to throw at you. The defense we have is the Shield of Faith. This means that whatever Satan might use against you God has got a defense for it.
Satan uses many weapons and the shield repels them.
For doubt - God has assurance of His Love.
For guilt - God has abundant forgiveness.
For discouragement- God's word is full of encouraging words and accounts of victorious living.
For temptation- God's promises can help us to have victory.

There are so many more I could mention but maybe it might help you to make a list of your own. Just remember when you faith is in God and in His power you are invincible.
