YIELD TO THE SPIRIT

Ephesians 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

Never let Satan fool you into thinking that he has anything good to offer you. He will tempt you with enticing things but they will eventually become ugly and hateful. No one will argue that sin is not attractive. If it weren't preachers wouldn't have to be preaching about it all the time. It looks enticing because Satan always just paints a picture of the brief pleasure sin brings and never shows the destruction it causes.

On the other hand God wants what is best for you. When you are saved He sends His Holy Spirit to dwell in your heart to guide you into close fellowship with Him. The closer you are to God, the easier it is to resist the devil.

Yielding to the spirit helps us in several ways. Yielding brings us Joy. Yielding gives us power. Yielding brings glory to God. All these things help us to resist the devil.
