Hebrews 11:24-25 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; (25) Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
Sin is sin because it is destructive. Sin leads to decay of the moral fiber just like disease leads to the decay of the body. Sometimes we think that we can hold on to certain sins and they will not harm us but it is not so.
Sin does a number of things to us. It causes us to have feelings of guilt and hurts our fellowship with the Lord. It is hard to pray without ceasing when we are involved in sin. Sin also hurts our testimony. Whether we like it or not the world is watching us and if we continue in sin they use the phrase, "They are no better than I am."
They are right of course we are not better than they are. We are not perfect but we are forgiven. Forgiveness should bring about thanksgiving and a gratefulness that cause us to avoid sin because of our love for our Savior.
